Hi all. I've always used the UMC ASIO driver, downloaded from Behringer, since I've been using a Behringer UMC202HD audio interface. However, I've recently had a couple of problems when using that driver, in Reaper: (a) occasional inconsistent playback volume, and (b) occasional latency, when recording audio and (c) distortion, when there shouldn't be any. One commenter on the Behringer site reported issues with the UMC ASIO driver, including (a) above. He recommends using a different ASIO driver with the interface.

So I tried switching to ASIO4all, in Reaper/preferences/device. However, I get complete silence when playing back, using that driver (latest version, 2.16, installed, today). One website recommends disabling 'exclusive mode'. in Windows control panel/harware & sound/sound/manage audio devices/device properties/advanced. I tried this, but it made no difference; I still get no sound when trying ASIO4all.

UPDATE: MAIN ISSUE SOLVED: I discovered I needed to enable my audio interface in the ASIO4all control panel. (That wasn't necessary, in my previous DAW). Now, I have sound!
.....However, if you have any advice on whether or not to enable Exclusive Mode in Windows sound-device settings, I'd appreciate that.
